The Guardian Building Tour
The Guardian Building is one of the most architecturally gorgeous buildings in Detroit. The Guardian Building was nicknamed “The Cathedral of Finance” soon after it opened. It claimed one in every four bank depositors in the city of Detroit.The grand archway into the banking hall contains an original Tiffany clock. The Guardian features Pewabic tiles and Atlantic terra cotta from New York, as well as a blend of marble and stone from Belgium, Italy, Tunisia and Minnesota. The building was designed by architect, Writ Rowland, a $12 million dollar project that opened in 1929. You can tour The Guardian Building Mon thru Fri at 10am. It’s a must see!! So incredibly beautiful!!
